I reckon headline BHP isn’t the differentiator. The FER powered cars just seem to lunge away from the corners, traction is unreal
I saw on Ric's final lap that our top speed on the main straight was 311, which is pitiful, anyone see any other merc teams Peak speeds?

Are you telling me that if we had like 320 top speed that would be enough to cover up that huge of a difference?

No I am trying to figure out if the problem sits with us (draggy) or merc powered teams in general as if Merc powered teams are sitting on the lowest rung of top speed indicates power difference, which effects out of corner acceleration.

Welp, hopefully we have a better race car and the HAAS/Alfa's have their reliability issues

Haven't been this disappointed since 2018.

Now that I look at it, this looks eerily similar to 2018. Overhyped in Barcelona only to fail miserably when we started racing. And surprisingly, this car looks somewhat similar to the MCL-33 from the front view because of the wide sidepods

You know, the whole budget and wind tunnel thing is a valid excuse for not winning the championship. It is not however a valid excuse for being behind Haas, Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri. Very disappointed with what has unraveled so far.

This could change in the future, or it may be track specific, but still. It would be shameful to be weaker than the likes of Haas and Alfa Romeo even at a single corner, let alone multiple sectors. We are talking about satellite teams with a fraction of the budget McLaren is supposed to have.

No clue how things can go so badly.

Those older brake ducts ported hot air to the car for some usage, now it doesn't.

I never figured out where it goes but I feel like we tool a step back and perhaps something sits here.

It also appears that the Merc engine may not be the class leader.

I think I'm gonna skip this season... The car is a complete failure.

Hot hair coming from the brakes is not going to fix that boat-like behavior this car has in low-speed corners. It's so horrible to the point it's hilarious actually.

I'm honestly done watching this crap sport. I've been through 2015 and 2017 and I certainly don't deserve a repeat.
Goodbye all, it's been good while my patience lasted.

First year of the new rules and the pace is terrible. What were they doing?! They had ONE F**KING JOB. I'm speechless. 😤

If it helped them get the tyres into the correct window, especially the fronts, it would.

I don't think this is all McLaren messing it up. There is likely something up with the Mercedes engine. No customer team has made it into Q3.

So even with James Key, Mclaren didn't manage to step up another level.
Even behind both the Haas now.
Imagine if Mazepin stayed & he qualified in front of us ...thank god.
