Ferrari F1-75

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Ferrari's 2022 power unit.

Are the two large tubes feeding the compressor?
Coming from the intercooler to the inlet manifold.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Looks like Ferrari and Alpine are using less wing than McLaren and crucially RBR.
You never know which setup RB will end up!

Lately they usually use low df setup.

If the rumours in the paddock are true about the engine being excellent, they can run more downforce to help them in the corners.

Plus their sidepod design inherently providing lower drag overall helps.

In the V8 era they ahuge amount of work in modifying the airbox. And were able to increase power significantly because of that. So i think this will probably be an area teams will put a lot of effort in now.
Not with a turbo engine

Quite visibly shallower wing. Smaller AoA and camber as well.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Reverse facing compressor? The inlet pipe is very odd.

Strange that Ferrari is OK with presenting the PU in it's naked entirety.

I'm guessing that was taken at the Haas (or Alfa) garage, the factory team would probably be more secretive

Isn't it true that development of the current (ICE part of the) PU's are frozen, so it doesn't matter anymore?

Aren't power units pretty much locked until 2026? I would guess it's relatively safe to give out a bit more than usually.
