So the Ferrari looks great in all conditions but the RedBull still has more in the bag.

Leclerc looks like he has Sainz under control, but Sainz knows he has to stick around to collect any points Leclerc will inevitably drop.

Max is really Leclerc's rival this year, but Max will be fighting reliability for the opening races if Honda doesn't fix whatever it is causing the Toro Rosso's to stop.

George Russell is close to Lewis, but he needs to stop putting pressure on himself and just focus on getting car to his liking. He's running a bit more agressive than Lewis again, we know because his car is bouncing more.

I don't know if I agree that RB have more in the bag. Ferrari are said to be running their engine lower than its peak power (supposedly the second unit will allow them to turn it up higher) and I'd suggest that Perez' performance indicates that there isn't oodles of time left for RB to find; if anything Max makes the difference.

Obviously Ferrari's performance also depends somewhat on both drivers not putting it the wall ;) Then again, prefer they do it now than in quali (so commentators talk of Charles making this mistake and eulogising Max's quali lap from last year is a bit ironic).

Judging by FP1 telemetry Ferrari was running very low engine mode, but very quick in every turn.

Will need to check FP2 when the numbers come out.

I saw Red Bull with a top speed of 333 kph vs ~320-5 for Ferrari.
Red Bull might be again on a médium DF setup which will cause higher tyre deg in race... like in Barhain

Actually FP2 just came out and it's the same story, Ferrari was running very low engine mode, although at least now they weren't lifting at the end of the straights.

T4-T12 Ferrari is on a really different planet really, despite the traffic from LEC's lap.

The hard tyres strangely is the fastest tyre, so much quicker than other tyres in race conditions. Race pace was odd, no clear faster car. Even the Williams on hard was as quick as Redbull on mediums.

The Ferrari was consistently and clearly the fastest car in the first sector, the one with the most corners in it.

I expected RB to be closer, but Ferrari has that extra in the bag.

It indeed is true. Softs is probably the worst. Hard appears to be the faster and more consistent tyre, followed by Mediums.

FP2, I cleaned up more less than 1:39 and bigger than 1:33

Seems like RBR has huge advantage to the Mercs, at least based on the data. Perez was on similar pace to Ver, slightly slower, similar to Ham vs Rus.

I think that the engine mode used by Ferrari matches the one used by RedBull. RPM overlap, as well as acceleration.
Instead, Mercedes seems to be pushing hard already, being constantly 400rpm over the other two.

But take my considerations with a pinch of salt... I'm not an engine expert.

It could be, I think it's easier to look at the speed curve in acceleration up to 250kmh to check for engine power. RPM would work between cars with the same engine.
