What is the white thing sitting in-line with where the exhaust would go for? Some kind of measurement device?

I don't think Barcelona is a great benchmark to use anymore. That was the first time any of these cars had seen a track. They weren't close to being pushed to the limit enough to expose any weaknesses outside of porpoising IMO. While Bahrain isn't representative of most tracks on the calendar, teams obviously were pushing the cars 100%. Quali and race days usually expose things fairly quickly.
Exactly forget Barcelona.
Perhaps Mclaren was one of the fastest in Barcelona whilst the rest were getting up to speed with their new machinery. Once the rest started bringing updates and started optimising set up it started to shuffle Mclaren back through the pack

They probably misaligned the centroids for their worm holes, otherwise it's difficult to balance warp and orbit. Not really my area of expertise though, just hawking theories.

Yea I can see that. I just feel they are asking too much of the air to be effective with this solution. Maybe the other teams think the same as well considering they are using that area for the throat
Well, other teams are using that area for other purposes, for example Red Bull / Ferrari have a wider T-Tray area to house electronics and t-tray dampener in there… the effective area of the Tunnel entrance should be the same or fairly similar.
I see. So is the there a maximum size for the throat of the the floor?
