This track put on premium the PU power and Merc customer and even the works team are taking a step back from Bahrein, despite porpoising related issues for all the above teams mentioned! And if you want some proof just look where Alpine drivers qualified in Q3 but most of all what delta times they did to the 4 top drivers on the grid...

"Just struggled with the balance of the car. And not where I want to be," he said.

"It's something in the set-up. It was looking good in FP3 and we tried to progress in a similar direction.

"Maybe we went too far and then the car was undriveable. It's so nervous."

Quite. 2 seconds off the pole time - I know the track ramps up but 2 seconds!)

I was looking forward to the changes because i thought the field would be closer, but the huge time differences are going to make this a long drawn out season imo.
I dunno, I still think you’re seeing a less spread field with Alpine and Alfa within a second, Haas and Alpha thereabouts too, and all of those cars mixing it with Mercedes.

The gap to the front two cars is still big enough that it’s too much for anyone to crack the top four without issues for those cars but it’s closer. Don’t also forget that all those teams (Mercedes excluded) will have a good chunk more CFD/wind tunnel time in the first half of the season so can possible continue to bridge the gap a bit.

Wow, what a lap from Perez. There was nothing left there, absolutely on the edge and without any mistakes. Congratulations!

Let's hope for a clean and exciting race tomorrow!

Sounds like a penalty. 5 positions more if he crossed the white line.

No penalty. His time will be deleted and he'll start base on his first q3 lap, which wasn't great so maybe 8th-10th.

Unless we're talking about pit exit? Which isn't 'track limits' exactly. We shall see.

This quote deleted. Mods
Maybe it is Perez year to shine. He has done his homework and can get more from the car. Redbull may need to make Checo the #1 driver now and let Max support him by fighting Charles and Sainz.

Max is too miserable. 2 races now he is complaining. He is almost like a fish out of water. 2021 had the perfect environment for him to thrive. Now everything has changed I am curious to see what happens if Checo has more points than him after 5 races in.

poor driver feedback?
Or desperately trying to find a silver bullet to make progress up the field in the race and took a gamble.

Where was it at though? I cant see how you can exceed track limits be a whole car width on this track.

Christian said he put a tyre on the pit entry line and is not too concerned as other drivers did too
