Speed traces for all the teams on the back straight, they Merc PU’s seem to be clipping
Or the Ferrari has a better ERS system?SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Mar 2022, 17:55I believe that they are having to use more ERS than Ferrari because of lack of power and therefore, clipping at the end of the straights.Lachstar wrote: ↑27 Mar 2022, 11:30Watching the McLaren onboard laps vs the Ferraris shows that we use all our battery way before the last corner whereas the Ferrari are still using it up until the finish line.
I'm not sure if the Merc Pu is getting all it can from the battery but it would explain why the Merc teams are struggling.
I believe the clipping is more a signal of covering other issues than lack of battery capacity itself… Ferrari may as well have a better ERS system, butI wouldn’t expect the top speed to taper the way it does on the Mercedes PU’sCjC wrote: ↑27 Mar 2022, 18:13Or the Ferrari has a better ERS system?SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Mar 2022, 17:55I believe that they are having to use more ERS than Ferrari because of lack of power and therefore, clipping at the end of the straights.Lachstar wrote: ↑27 Mar 2022, 11:30Watching the McLaren onboard laps vs the Ferraris shows that we use all our battery way before the last corner whereas the Ferrari are still using it up until the finish line.
