Onboard this track gives me Australia vibes in terms of track characteristics, albeit an extended version. Straights and medium/high speed chicanes. Interested to see who does well.

Turns 11 to 16 reminds of sector 3 in Russia. I expect Ferrari's strong front end being beneficial there. Setting up a race like Jeddah

Red bull should have good speed on the straights
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

Expecting a balance between RB/Ferrari similar to Saudi Arabia as a result of the long straights which favour RB and the T11-16 section. Think it once again comes down to whichever of the two cars handles the tyres better as overall either of them could be quick here.

With new engine and new rear wing and a small update on the floor, the only way that the balance RB/Ferrari will be the same is if porpoising bothers Ferrari more than it did in Jeddah. I can't really see that, this doesn't mean that I think Ferrari will dominate, I just don't think the differences will be the same as in Jeddah.

Fake marinas, the future of F1…

I’d love to see another F1 race at Watkins, the one place in the US with true F1 history. If Imola and Mugello are now OK then why not return to Watkins? I’m sure long time US F1 fans would love it.

Because it is not grade 1 status and it'll cost a fortune to bring it to that level. Not to mention it's in the middle of nowhere so hospitality and travel will be very troublesome
After the last re-surfacing, run off and barrier work Whiting awarded it FIA grade 2. At the same time he was asked what it would take for the track to be made grade 1, he said it was almost ready and the grade 1 changes needed would be minimal, probably mostly Techpro investment. I don’t see how it’s much worse than parts of Imola, Suzuka, Spa, Zandvoort.

I do agree about the facilities, that could be sorted if there was a will though. Location, I tend to subscribe to the build it and they’ll come adage.

I don't like these sorts of tracks. Feels like a carpark. I rather a pure street track like Baku than these quasi street tracks we get nowadays.

I'm holding out for Vegas, even though i live only 3 hours from Austin. I would never do the humidity of Miami. 🥵

As much as I dislike Tilke, I think leaving the track design to the promoters is becoming a problem. I feel like they are just trying to overdo parts of this track. It's a bit disappointing considering they had literally no restrictions with the environment for the track layout. They should have put a chicane to break up the curvy straight and simplified the 11-16 section

I believe they wanted to simplify the 11-16 section but had to implement a chicane in order to get the track to work with existing roads whilst maintaining the minimum height clearance F1 requires below the overhead ramps:
