GG Max, great drive.

Before seeing telemetry I could spot a few things: RedBull didn't just win thanks to high top speed, they had great mechanical grip in T11-16. In the last few laps with Lec and Ver back to back, Ver was jumping around a bit more at the end of straight to T17, I would wager that RedBull had softer suspension going here which allowed them to get the edge both on tyre temperature and mechanical grip despite the lower wing.

Now really eagerly awaiting for Ferrari first updates in Barcelona, porpoising is really ruining this car.
Red bull wasn't gaining that much on straight even with 10 kmh advantage on top end. They gained much more on that tight section as you mentioned. Yes they had some advantage on straights but not anything decisive. It did help Verstappen keep that P1 anyway, that's the luxury you have with a car that can actually defend position on straights, unlike anything verstappen has driven so far (reverse 2021 basically).

George is a step ahead of Lewis. Dont know whats happened with him this year (lewis)
Was there something Lewis could have done to stop Russel getting a lucky free stop?

Man, Russell making a habit of beating Lewis. Started 12th now in 5th. Really good job.
George is increasingly looking like the real deal. However a free pit stop (again) and taking a gamble on the hard tyre helped, he’s a lucky boy.
I mean its been well known hes the real deal considering his junior carrier

Well, duh. As Frank Dernie says the faster of the two drivers in the best car usually wins. F1 is all about building the best car. :)
Well that’s a change of tune from your posts from the last several years
Still. Given himself a chance with a good starting overtake. Did all he needed to do to convert this into a win

George gained like 2-4 spots because of a yellow flag and had much fresher tires. Did you even watch the race?

IMHO, he's just a better driver all round. Got lucky again with the safety car but overall a better racer with both in the same team. #opinion
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

Lmao Carlos with his top off, getting weighed after drinking litres of water, swearing on the world feed - like a finely oiled machine.

It was a good overtake, but the racing line grid spots were always going to here. You heard the comments from the drivers about offline grip…

Please share the data you’re looking at when you get a moment. Prove it technically. I am equally a fan of Lewis and George, but let’s be realistic here and call a duck a duck, luck has played into these, either via yellow flags or via qualifying red flags.

Going back to Brazil last year I remember Horner and Marko whining about the Merc being unracable with a few kph top speed advantage. Wonder what they call this.
Ironic that last season CH was crying the only reason Hamilton won was because Mercedes was faster in a straight line. Seems RB we’re taking notes all along
Or that Lewis only won because he had the best car….

I like Max, but let’s be realistic here, Max is winning because he also has the best car now. Ferrari just doesn’t have the stonk down the straight atm and seems to struggle with a graining phase
According to Newey the Redbull was the best car last season and we all know they still needed MM for max to win

Another thing that worked in his favour was the surprising durability of the hard compound tyre, which made the reverse strategy the way to go today in hindsight.
