I must have watched a different race. 100 exciting things happened and none of them featured a Mercedes. Max and Charles are in a league of their own

Yes, they do have the best two cars, but those do tend to be the cars at the front!

I'm still waiting on this "Alpine is 3rd fastest car and Alonso is just unlucky" I keep hearing. I don't see it. It seems like the 5th-6th fastest car at best.

Sure, but I don't think anybody is claiming Sainz or Perez are top tier drivers? :)

If that was Alonso, or indeed Russell, or perhaps Norris, in those second cars it would be spicy, but they aren't so it is rather a two-driver WDC race unfortunately.

Ferrari should've tried something under the SC, but softs on and give it a shot, at least for the first couple of laps should've been a nice advantage, maybe Verstappen would've caught back up in the end but that's a risk you have to take imo.

True, but it seems a little unfair to imply that the top drivers who have lesser cars are necessarily driving worse, just as to say top drivers who have superior cars are necessarily driving better. Leclerc is perhaps a little more consistent than 2021, but I doubt Leclerc is suddenly hot lapping better than 2021 or 2020, he just has a faster car. Likewise Verstappen compared to back in 2019 or 2020.

Definitely. 2 very very skilled racers. I dont think Perez is 'far' behind them, he just drives the car a little different being a little conservative on the tyres being a bit more 'gentle' overall.

Max is clearly the best driver on the grid this year, leclerc a close second.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

Redbull seems to accept a bit of porpoising now for a more compliant rear? More DF?

Very impressive, mature, drive by Max today, and you can see it also when he is out of the car.

Hopefully checo’s engine problem will not mean he had to take another.

Quite enjoyed the race on a very tough track.

The SC spiced things up. Oof.

Just a sensor acting up on Perez's car. Just needed to shut it off

I’ve seen Verstappen do impossible things in a torro Rosso and Leclerc in an Alfa Romeo. We see lando beating ricciardo and George being more consistent than lewis
