Stay is good for saving weight, as they dont need to run a heavy floor to prevent it flexing down and causing porpoising.

Anything specific in the way of upgrades and things the team are working on guys?

Quite excited to see what the grid bring to Barcelona- first proper upgrade of the new era.

From what we’ve heard from PhillipM and other media sources… Front brake ducts, rear brake ducts, rear brake winglets, front strake section….

This is just from what we have heard, maybe not all of this… but it has been a while so obviously they’ve put considerate energy into the production of this package

There are rumors that the second MB motor that will be introduced in Spain will be more efficient, which should help us.

Yep but he said more efficient. It used to be that these changes would get looked at by the PU Manufactures for aproval AFTER the FIA approved them. Not sure if it still happens that way.

Alpine got approval for thier Revised water pump but that's kind of a no brainer when it comes to a "reliability" fix. No way a water pump can give you more power.

It might just be new maps to extract more performance from the E10 fuel at different engine loads and rpms now that they also have at least some component wear data. This is still allowed. The rocket engine was based on this principle last year.

A lighter, more efficient impeller for the water pump impeller gives less drag on the engine which translates to more power at the wheels. I'm not talking big difference but could they find 0-1hp between a heavy, inefficient impeller, and a light weight, efficient flow design? Sure.

Virtually every reliability tweak has performance consequences. What I think is each manufacturer is scratching the other's back in order to receive favors when it's their turn to ask for something.

And how are you going to pass a lighter water pump off as a reliability upgrade?

A majority of the other teams have to agree to allow the reliability update tho, so it wouldn’t be easy to get performance improvements past them.
