Yeah that would be awesome particularly for Dan and his mega late braking we have seen him do many times in the past. I wonder if the weight saving will result in a bit of a sharper front end which he likes. Some drivers are very sensitive to brake feel; and with changes to the cooling setup (as well as any other material changes or things we can't see inside as of yet) there is potential for this to be quite a huge change. I'm not going to say they are magically going to end up with a car than can pull off 2014-2018 Red Bull/Ricciardo divebombs, but brakes are an area where you can make up lap time both through technical gains (thermal management, weight, etc.) and also just pure driver confidence.
So to answer your question, yes, I think this will provide a lap time benefit.
