Doh!!!!
I read 334 vs 337...
Yeah I would agree that there is likely a bit of wing difference.
This is on their final flying lap.

Extra 200 RPM for George may indicate better last corner exist or better up shifts ?
Russell is running lower downforce setup, that's all there is to it. Hamilton knows exactly when to shift and corner exit has zero influence on top speed on this long straight.

That would not account for a 13kph difference. That is just way too high imo.
I did notice lewis was sub par in sector 3 as well all weekend and such an advantage in top speed leads me to believe he was in fact running less downforce.

Since you quoted me and not the person I replied to, I wasn't saying I saw those numbers some where.
I (mis)read that from the person I quoted, before I had my coffee!

That was a very positive race weekend, Sunday pace looked v decent in HAMs hands in particular.

Seems VERY odd that both cars had the same issue on the very same lap of a water leak?

I think they might have done some short fuelling and realised they were going to run out.

Chances of a fresh ‘more reliable’ PU springing a water leak within 1minute of each other. Hmmm

I suspect they have turned up the PU and it was probably thirsty and they needed to save fuel at the end. Without a VSC or SC, it probably became a problem.

Isn’t that limited by fuel flow sensors though?

Jorge finished 3rd, Lewis wanted to quit.... What looked good in his hands, can you provide something specific?
HAMs race speed. Did you not watch the race?
can you show me comparative lap times
To make it easy for you, Hamilton was more than 50 seconds behind Russell after lap 1, and was around 11 seconds behind when the water leak happened.

Just to add despite pitting later than Lewis for softs, George couldn't match HAM's fastest lap.
We need a miracle. We need only one racing lap.

Confirmation that they have improved the car immensely. Lewis was in another planet in race pace. Only Leclerc and Verstappen could have stopped him in a head to head fight today. George showed he has very good race craft. Very positive weekend overall.

After the fight with Verstappen, Russell went into race maintenance mode. So it's not an apple to apples comparison of race pace.

Very true, but does never in a life time account for 40 seconds  If GR could have held that pace, he would have, because he would have been in the fight for the win for real.

It's promising signs nonetheless. Now with the porpoising issue solved and the cars being allowed to be raced at 100% (maybe even more than that), there should be valuable data to push for further development and the right direction on what updates will be put on the car in the near future!

I had my doubts because my feeling was that they did not understand the porpoising even after 5 races even though there are guys on this forum who knew the problem was the floor along. Now that they finally understand it, I expect a lot of pace to come from them and they might end the year as the clear fastest car. Probably too little too late to challenge for the championships but next year they will be there all the way I feel.
