With two RedBulls in front there is no race for the win basically.
Wow. Just wow. So it's OK for Mercedes to
not bother to find a suitable equal number one replacement for Rosberg for five whole seasons? To keep Bottas long after it is clear that Bottas is significantly inferior to Rosberg and unlikely to ever win a WDC? To deliberately leave Russell at Williams instead of a timely promotion in 2020 or 2021, even though unlike Bottas, Russell very likely could and would have contended for the 2020 & 2021 WDC?
Red Bull had Ricciardo as equal number one, he left, they tried Gasly, they tried Albon, now they have Perez in a number two role but it's not for lack of trying to find an equal number one. When there is a star of Verstappen or Russell calibre in AlphaTauri they almost certainly WILL be promoted to Red Bull Racing ASAP, no dithering. Perez is an amicable driver who is a good fit for the team in a number two driver role at the moment, Webber settled into a less amicable number two driver role, but Webber was previously an equal number one and
DID go for a WDC (and was allowed to, he took it to the last round!) on his more favoured Bridgestone tyres before the change to the Pirelli tyres he didn't like.
