Red Bull's Sergio Perez has won the Monaco Grand Prix, having to fend off Sainz who blamed a lapped car for losing the race. Verstappen finished third while Leclerc was a disappointed fourth after communication issues with his team.
Its the first year with the 'mudgards' too. Drivers now can not see the lower front corners and have to 'guess' where the breakable bits are in relation to the walls.
I think lots of broken cars and slightly higher lap times
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.
Wonder if Aston will produce enough spare parts*, Monaco is a track where you need confidence and you can hardly build confidence with "you touch the wall and we have to revert to the old spec and lose all the progress" or "you touch the wall in quali and you start from the pits due to change of spec in parc fermé" on your mind - not that it's all that much different for everyone else with regards to the budget cap but still...
*Apparently they had no spare parts for Barcelona so both drivers were told to be super cautious.
With the recent graphic flying around of the Alfa Romeo being competitive in the low-speed stuff in Spain, it would be utterly amazing to see them doing well this weekend... as in well enough to challenge for a podium; Especially for Bottas too, who arguably is loving life outside of Mercedes.
In saying that, we should see Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari are fighting for it here... Red Bull the favourites mainly due to Verstappen. Whilst Ferrari might on paper have the stronger car (and every fibre of my being wants them to have a clean weekend!)... I've got this feeling we'll see at least one of the Red Cars in the barriers when it matters... and I really hope I'm wrong on that prediction.
