Perez is a decent driver, but this forum seems to have Checo fever at the moment.

Verstappen beats Perez comfortably under practically all normal circumstances, so a Perez win seems like an outside bet rather than a likelihood.
The pattern is quite obvious and you can see who is rooting for Checo and why. :)

I really can't see Perez winning this race, let alone the championship as 'Verstappen had a issue', ie. the latter being Schumacher/Irvine 2000 scenario (except I'd expect Red Bull and Perez to do a bit better job at winning it, though IMO that scenario heavily favours Leclerc on pace then).

First run for the merc and it’s porpoising like crazy down the straight.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

Sainz complaining it’s a lot too. Looks about the same as Mercedes’

Ferrari and Merc both experiencing problems down the back straight, most significantly just around the pit entry from what I saw in the onboards where there are a few bumps iirc. W13 looks higher frequency whereas Ferrari looks like higher amplitude.

Yeah, I think what we saw with Hamilton looked a bit more doable. The amplitude we saw from the Ferrari currently looks painful, but we also saw they were able to dial it out a bit (but hopefully not at the expense of a lot of pace, bc. looks like they need it).

Interesting what Karun just mentioned from Pirelli, who said that the Red Bull not suffering much from porpoising might be a factor in it being better on the tyres, as they do feel the bouncing load through them, which might increase their wear for those that do suffer from it!

If the Ferrari is bouncing that much over the whole weekend, they might even had to worry about finishing the race, let alone a shot for the win (well, podium)... either the car is going to shake itself to bits or the drivers' spins will disintegrate by Lap 20.

That DRS flap of the RB oscillates like crazy. Seems very fragile.

I really struggle with how poorly these cars look in vertical travel. Whether it be bumps, porpoising or going over kerbs, I hate the tv visual

Yeah, apart from that DRS flutter (and the whole wing moving a bit of a questionable amount), that Red Bull looks as good as the times indicate.

Would there be any gain from that 'fluttering' or would it be spoiling the 'wake'?

I was wondering if it is worth Ferrari complaining or if its better leave them 'suffer'?

I think it would be having a negative effect on the Red Bull to be honest. Like with many of these things, if there was a gain to be had doing it then others teams would have tried followed by a crack down by the FIA.
