A wonderful Lap from Charles there... truly thought Red Bull would've locked-up the front row here, but seems Ferrari did make some solid gains in S3 with their low-down force setup. A pity Sainz couldn't get in with the Bulls, BUT even if he is in 4th by the end of Lap 1, the Top 4 should easily be able to pull a gap from 5th and back (barring safety cars and what not) to try something to get ahead of one of the Bulls. In saying that... Red Bull are likely to roll the dice again to get the lead, and despite Charles' dominant performance in Spain where his pace and tyre usage was incredibly good, I still reckon Red Bull is the overall faster race car here... and their slight Top-Speed advantage will help in getting past.

Good effort from Russell once more... getting all he can out of the W13 for 5th. A bit surprised the Alpine's weren't further-up the grid, BUT... even in a DRS train, they are going to fly on the straights. I wonder if we'll see something close to 350km/h in the Speed Trap from them with DRS and a solid Slip-Stream...!

Watching F2... vips balantly crossed the solid line of the pit entry, 15 laps into race and still no investigation?

Im wondering if Ferrari will have a tyre advantage here with a fresh set of mediums for each driver. If they get a late safety car that could play into their hands very well.

I think we will see most top runners start on mediums, but a few at the back might gamble on softs and hope for a early safety car. Starting on soft can go to about the same length as the medium but if they swap to hards, might leave teams starting on soft a little more open towards the end of the race. Could be very interesting come tyre strategy and safety cars with some pitting and some staying out.

Expecting medium-hard 1 stop if no sc, but how likely is that with Baku being Baku

strategy should definitely interesting at least. Last year also starting on hards worked out really well for Stroll (only until the tyre blew of course), who moved from 19th to 4th, and would easily have stayed in points range (or even Top 6) even after his stop. Could be an option for some of those starting in the back today as well.

Yeah, definitely. I looked at the hard to start and go long to begin with and have a quicker tyre at the end (which could be interesting) but I think you would need a well timed SC to make advantage of the stop to swap onto mediums. Going to be a good one.

Toto strongly reckons the FIA need to come up with a resolution for the porpoising, after having bad effects on the drivers. Surely its the teams' fault for their driver safety by running the cars too low to the ground. Simple solution to raise the car up, but teams dont want to as it compromises performance.

They putting on a good show about it Mercedes thats for sure.

The Sky coverage is truly terrible and not worth the money without Ted and Brundle.

Maz 15kmh faster with no DRS than charles and Perez. so much for it being a small margin like others mntioned.
