Wouldn't 'outisde' air being forced into the diffuser increase the mass volume through it and help pull more air through?

but yes, i was mixing my terms up a bit!
Both Button and Barrichello had their rear wheel rim shields removed in China . Also in Bahrain the sheilds were refitted back in both cars .Conceptual wrote:Any idea why Jenson used the rear rim shields in China and Bahrain, but Reubens did not at either race?

I believe the reason why the shields were removed during Sunday race in China was the wet race conditions . Rain neutralized any aerodynamic gain coming out of them and consequently there was no need to carry them as a burden .
