So, Ferrari suspects that the Baku PU failure is related to the PU failure in Spain.
Meaning, the safest approach is to change the whole PU and not just the ICE.

Just my 2 cents.

FP1 might’ve been Sainz’s best practice session all year. Hoping he’s taken a step forward.

Leclerc seemed to have some heavy deg at the end of his long run. Might be something to watch. I imagine his PU1 is pretty tired at this point as well so the times looked a bit slow.

As far as I was aware he’s detonated both of his so far and is already running #3

PU2 is gone, but PU1 is still ok. But because he didn't took new turbo that could be PU3 in the back of #16 car.

As I suspected...

I think Ferrari is going to have trouble with Red Bull in S3 just like Baku. Let's see how FP2 looks...

I think they will, Charles just used a 2nd set of softs in FP2 instead of Mediums and Softs like everyone else. They'll start from the back.

Starting from th3 back makes a lot of sense.
I expect him to be in p10 in about 10-12 laps, and of course if it's a wet race, it will be much easier to start from the pits instead of the 1th place in the grid.

On top of that, every subsequent change of PU components, will be only 5 places penalty, not 10

With a new engine, Charles will have more than enough pace to fight his way through the field. Might run into traffic if Vettel and Alonso are as quick as it seems though.

Long runs looked solid. I think RB might have a long run pace advantage but hard to tell given fuel and PU settings are unknown.

I think Ferrari can still qualify 1-2 though.

Unlikely Leclerc will bother fighting through to Q3 whilst starting from the back of the grid; no point risking the car etc

Long runs look very good. Could be Sainz's weekend

Doh, I forgot he's starting in 20th instead of a 10 place drop. #-o

How good will the tow be at this circuit? He can still give Sainz a nice tow in Q3. Maybe get Sainz his maiden pole.

Same as every circuit, you can feel it only within 2s of the car in front and will likely give you 0.2s tops (In baku it was 0.4s max and that straight is 2x longer).

I don't understand... isn't it the Turbo which was the problem? And I dont think the CE can have wear and tear unless you physically damage the thing, so what could have gone wrong here? :-k
