Ferrari are screwing Charles. They screwed him in Monaco. This should have been his championship.
The problem is Sainz is a medium speed above average driver like Gasly Ocon types & doesn’t have the speed. Today he couldn’t twice keep off Leclerc with a broken front wing & only won because of luck. He was outclassed by Verstappen today & he has been outdriven by Leclerc the entire season.
Last season also he should have been 50-60 points behind but Leclerc kept being unlucky in Monaco, Hungary, Russia etc & Sainz kept getting lucky in Monaco, Hungary etc but was slower last season too !
Some of the calls Ferrari made were very odd. Not letting Charles past at the start, Telling Sainz to back the pack up, and Binotto telling Charles off after the race.
Wonder if this could become drivers vs team if it stays like this
Congrats to Carlos on his first win, Leclerc was mighty impressive all throughout the race considering the damage he had - his defense on the last few laps just shows he's a different caliber. Ferrari really really needs to sort out the pace at which they decide things mid race. This indecisiveness will cost them more and more as things get tighter and tighter later in the season.
