Seems the wind can unsettle this car's downforce so easily at the rear

Nice cheering and waving by the Max fans there. =D>
Driver is obviously ok, who cares. Got what he deserves. Pathetic overdriving lap after lap until it finally got loose.

Again he's lucky its a sprint weekend so he'll end up in P4 anyway for tomorrow.
If anything is pathetic, it’s this hateful, toxic comment. Get yourself together.

To finish first you must first finish
Yes.. Just wait for the technical directive to come into effect  or, few more races without it
We need a miracle. We need only one racing lap.

Was he running multiple lap old tyres like Hamilton?

If so what a stupid idea from the team.

i wonder if its due to the extreme low ride height coupled by the windy track... a bit of unsettling caused the car to suddenly lose grip........

Do you think Marko has asked someone to point a large fan at the Mercedes 😂 the wind is catching that car out good and proper! 😅

ok you just need to can it... that was his first flying lap on the new tyres. ham did not purposefully run those laps. you can clearly see from the purple S1s that they were aborts...

Let’s not forget the British fans cheered when max spun last week.

I don’t agree with the cheering/booing but can’t just expect one nation of fans to sit quiet the week after the other set Fans were doing the same.

And that’s a HUGE bill for Mercedes’ tonight
spin =/= crash... it was fine for the spin... big crash for a driver that mandates a medical center visit... not so much.

In different corners….

Seems the rear end is particularly twitchy (peaky?) , my guess is in fast changing “apparent wind” changes

The fact he had enough fuel to do all of those laps means it was planned.

The reason for the aborts was the horrible t3 for Mercedes. It looks absolutely awful through there, drifting like a rally car, just like in previous years. It has to be the worst corner on the calendar for them.

Very entertaining final few seconds! Congratulations to Max! Top 3 within a tenth, very competitive. Mercs will probably make good progress tomorrow

W13 is fundamentally flawed. It’s amazing to me experienced watchers of this sport don’t see it. I guess they will have to learn the hard way like Ferrari fans did back when the engine changes happened. Will be fun to watch this unfold with frustrated fans unwilling to accept the reality that turd pods are an engineering disaster. That car is an aero boat anchor, a pos, a garbage can on wheels.
Watching F1 since 1986.
