UFF!!! Ferrari almost managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Pace was incredible, reliability troubling, this was a 1-2.
Mercedes very far behind.
Mick seems to be learning.
Merc not necessarily showing their actual pace here.
Lewis is P3, but he started P8 and had to wait for about 15 laps behind much much slower cars before he was totally up to speed.
George is P4 but was sent very far back down the grid after his penalty and had to sit in traffic for a while till his car woke up like Lewis had to.
If both Mercs started in their proper position shaving not crashed out during quali and George didn't get that dumb penalty (imo) for the most racing incident type of racing incident, it all could have looked very different.
Sure thing...
Russell was 4th getting gaped at a huge rate (lost endplate much like Leclerc at Silverstone) early.
Hamilton with free air kept dropping like a rock.
Mercedes fans are the most hopeless optimistic people in the world, can't wait to keep hearing about the car's "potential".
About the penalties, bump another guy off the track, ruin his race= 5s
Go wide a couple of times=5s
That's just not right.
What are you talking about?
Russel had to drop right back into DRS trains way back out of the points from lap 1.
Lewis had to battle up from P8 in DRS trains.
My point was not that they are faster than the RBs or Ferrari's, but that due to circumstances in the race, their true pace wasn't actually shown.
I don't see why that should upset anyone.
