Haas VF-22

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Didn’t noticed until now that the leading edge of the end plate wasn’t one curvature and instead several of them… Wondering what the benefits could be:

Interesting + new picture

You can kind of see the floor leading edge; it looks now much more like Ferrari's pre-France setup; inlet higher towards chassis and sloped down towards the outside. Also interested to see what is meant by the "new rear suspension" mentioned. I'm going to assume it's going to just be different carbon shrouds, but still not something I expected.

A few more pictures from the AMuS gallery:

I don't know if it was always there, but there definitely seems to be a front-facing kick on the central section of the floor, like Red Bull had and the Ferrari floor from France had. It's hard to see (maybe my eyes deceive me) but you can kind of see it to the right of the two metal stands.

Still waiting on a top view to see just how concave the sidepods are (if at all).

From the limited pictures the 'in-wash' geometry infront of the rear looks a lot more aggressive than the Ferrari

I don't know if its just the angle but the rear suspension fairing that sits just above the floor looks very big

The lack of the t-tray diveplane is surprising. Nearly every other team runs it.

It has to cover the driveshaft as well.

Unlike Ferrari, Haas didnt shroud everything; the drive shaft, the wishbone leading arm and the track rod in a single part, one of them stays alone (visible on the left). But maybe they will do that in this update

I thought that too; in the second pic I posted from amus that region of the bib is not bare carbon like the rest. maybe they will bond it on at a later time?
