To split the Mercedes (after they were pulling away in terms of pace) and been half a second faster than Alonso in the Alpine bodes well for the new package, which I’m sure everyone (from the drivers to the team) is still adapting and learning… It is also important for that to happen in a track where drag carries a very large penalty with a couple of very long straights… Hopefully the bits coming for Hungary helps build a bit more pace in the car
We should be quicker in Hungary in my opinion, I think the drag really compromises the team on wing choices.

What is the excuse for Ricciardo today? It’s never his fault, so I’m curious what is it today

Lando, well done… really would love to see him in a front running car. Hope McLaren can give him that soon.
I have a feeling that this will be great for him too… What he is learning from having to push a car that isn’t at the front will pay a lot of dividends once McLaren delivers him one that is (Yes, I’m hoping it will be the case!)

It will be interesting… But I don’t think is the drag that compromises the team… Is the lack of downforce that forces the team to run more wing and therefore more drag.

Hard to tell… Performance has swing so much this season that talking in absolutes is really hard… It wouldn’t be surprising if Alpine is faster in Hungary (even though we expect it the other way around) or for McLaren to be faster in Spa… I actually believe that McLaren will perform well in Spa

Mclaren did a big step lets wait the race i dont know their tyre degradation but Lando will be quick so will fernando but i think Lando 7 and Alonso 8 i think Sainz will be 4

Singapore for the next package according to the same person that told me about parts being here instead of Silverstone.

There's still some small stuff trickling out of production though so might be some tweaks I guess.

I hope the race pace is competitive against Mercedes, anybody knows how the long runs look?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

From what has been posted, I think it's more comparable to Alpine than Mercedes unfortunately. But friday data has not always been accurate for McLaren, so let's see.

Pretty frustrating to see every team from Merc to AMR to AT to Williams bring big updates and we are the only ones saying that we cant afford to under the budget gap....sigh...

I mean he was 0.15 off his team mate in Q2- he fell just the wrong side of the fence of the top10 and was very close to coming through.

Landos Q3 lap was very good, a shame Dan Ricc didn’t get chance to perform in Q3 but certainly not an obvious underperformance from him here.

Looking forward to seeing him race tomorrow actually - car seems better
