Sainzs pace was already disgustingly fast and he was going for a podium imo before the safety car.

Now I think he's going for a win.

Perez will probably defend for his life if doesn't get Ham first as Ham can't challenge for the win but Carlos definitely will.
On these tyres? With a time penalty?

No surprise for the Sainz penalty... was surprised it wasn't harsher to be honest. Cannot see him going for any type of win with the pace Max has. Also, Carlos is now behind cars that are quick in the corners and on the straights. Might get past Russell, BUT will have a very hard time getting past Perez.

Should Sainz have stayed out? Woukd have been in the lead now and given the penalty, probably neutralises any pit under safety car

Even if he would've made up some spots, he would've been swamped at the restart with all the surrounding cars on fresh tyres... and memories of Silverstone would come rushing back.

he would be in about the same position as now, not in the lead, I think, and on old tyres.

Before the stop, he was something like 7-8s behind Verstappen, who just passed the other cars when they pitted.

A DNF from Max would bring the championship in nice position going into the summer break! Not saying I'm wishing this to happen.

A HAM win would be nice if honda encounters some issues
What's with the anti-Verstappen/Honda/RBR sniping? :wtf:

Discussing misfortune for other competitors before it happens is most improper. If Mercedes want to compete for victories, the best way is to design a better car with more pace... It seems they are closer but still a touch away from the Ferrari or Red Bull.

It was such a shame to see Leclerc's issue... It's still unclear if that was a driver error or mechanical problem.

A big row behind alonso. Is he driving that slow or are the cars that even?

He wasn't going to be in the lead... max was ahead of him with new tires.

That is not blistering, that is pick up, it is the unloaded tire
