The 2021 Belgian Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Rolex Belgian Grand Prix 2021) was a Formula One motor race held on 29 August 2021 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
The race was won by Max Verstappen, ahead of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.

Originally intended to be to run over a distance of 44 laps, due to very wet conditions only two laps took place behind the safety car before a red flag brought an end to the race during lap three, with the regulations requiring the results to be taken from the end of lap one. As a consequence of this, half points were given to the drivers who finished in the top 10 positions.

Normally I'd say that's exciting. But this year I want Spa to be as dry as the desert to just not run the chance of having something like last season happen again. Especially when the future of the race hangs in the balance.

Its ironical that we have races where explosions were in the vicinity and races in politically questionable places all because of money but rain could decide, maybe, the fate of pure F1 legend.

What's new in Spa 2022

So you already know the weather in Spa-Francorchamps, but there are also real innovations when Formula 1 returns from the summer break at the weekend: Spa has rebuilt.

The most obvious is the transformation of the Eau Rouge/Raidillon passage, where a new grandstand now stands on the far left on the hill. The well-known chalet at the top of the hill is gone, the asphalt run-off areas on the spot have been repainted.

New asphalt has been laid between turns 2 and 4 (said part of the circuit with Eau Rouge and Raidillon) and between turns 8 and 9 ("Bruxelles" and "Speaker's Corner"). And at turns 1, 6, 7 and 9 there will be new gravel traps close to the racetrack in 2022.
