Seriously, massi was 100 times more competent than whatever shambles of race director we have now. WTF was that red flag for 1 second after a complete non-incident??? And the investigation for yellows? Fia complete bunch of idiots this year, no other word for it.
agree. competence urgently required.
This is not the first time this season. These new race directors drive me nuts.
Same! I was really hoping for an upswing in consistency and I suppose they have succeeded there. They’ve become consistently worse which is quite the feat!
Am sure it’s a difficult job where decisions have to be made swiftly in real time but dang, they make clanger after clanger.
You’d almost want Masi back!!!! I really wish he was given an appropriate support setup when he was there rather than being thrown to the wolves as he was.

It’s painful to see the current decision making

I don't know. Can't find it. :-(
.
EX are PU components like the other parts in 28.2 https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files ... -04-29.pdf
"each driver may use no more than [...] eight (8) of each of the four (4) elements constituting a set of Engine exhaust systems during a Championship. [...]
So it falls under 28.3 for the 9th element:
The first time an additional element is used: Ten (10) grid place penalty
.
Thanx!

Isn't leclerc taking a 9th exhaust according to the document? Yes.
Meaning a 10-place? I don't know. Cann't find it. :-(

on F1tv channel they say race control has confirmed to to ferrari leclerc will have to start from the back like the others, hence they took a bunch more penalties before fp3

Thanx!

1. It is very just that the drivers are getting penalised....
2. The porpoising is an unresolved problem.
3. At last, figuratively speaking, a great, no GREAT camera position at Eau Rouge showing the real speed!

They did have marshals on the track cleaning up after Leclerc's trip across the gravel into the tyre barrier. Race Directors wise ? Splitting it up between two people might not be the best idea the FIA's ever had. But I'm sure they'll get better at judging on track situations. I doubt anyone will ever match up with Charlie Whiting's experience level, but even he was prone to making mistakes.

here's the statement from the FIA about it:

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files ... ements.pdf

"regardless of how many documents the penalties are published in, all decisions accumulate over the Competition, and anything over the 15 grid place limit triggers the back of the grid penalty"

McLaren perhaps regretting the penalty for Norris given his pace..
Norris looks like he could content for a podium if he hadn't gotten the dud PU.

He got another +20 anyways so was back of the grid either way ... but they felt the need to clarify this for the future "This explanation is provided as this is first time this situation has occurred and this is a precedent."

Why would you go to an F1 GP event to eat prawn sandwiches suspended from a crane? You can’t see anything that’s going on.

I assume this is some sort of promotional junket and people haven’t paid their own money for this?
