This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
in case you haven't noticed: you only need to register (for free) to not get bothered anymore.
Where does this "Red Bull had tire wear issues on Friday" come from, btw? AmuS mentioned it several times over the past days, but Perez did no longrun at all in FP2, and Verstappen only three laps:
.
I posted this before. He has the new ERS system. Why else would they take a new PU this weekend?! Read what Marko said.
Horner also said that without it, they would have enough PU's in the pool for the rest of the saison.
.
.
So Red Bull has good reasons for optimism, despite the Verstappen penalty. This should also be the last, Marko hopes:
"Theoretically, that should be enough." For the remaining races, Red Bull plans to get by with the engines already used at Verstappen.
.
Nothing is mentioned about the new spec ERS. Only that with the current extra PU elements they can take Max to the end of the season. He has taken these before the hom deadline so they can very well be current spec. just to be safe. He doesn't have to take them this year. Only 1 RBPT car has to according to the rules.
.
Teams have to introduce the upgrade into at least one car by the first event AFTER the deadline which is Monza.
If all the cars would have to take a penalty then they have until 5 events after the deadline to introduce it into one car.
All RBPT cars would have to take a penalty so they technically have until COTA to introduce the upgrade into one car.
Edit:
4.3 In order to be registered, a specification upgrade must be used by at least one car powered by the Power Unit Manufacturer no later than:
• the first Event following the deadline specified in the second table of Appendix 3 of the Technical Regulations if at least one car would incur no penalty under art. 28.3 of the Sporting Regulations.
• the fifth Event following the deadline specified in the second table of Appendix 3 of the Technical Regulations if all cars would incur a penalty under art. 28.3 of the Sporting Regulations.
From the technical regulations for 2022 issue 12
Thanks for confirming that only 1 RBPT car has to take it by race 1-5 after the hom deadline in order for it to be registered. Read it there too recently. As Max has now taken enough parts into his pool before the hom deadline he can run till the end of the season.

There were bringing new shock absorbers/dampers here? It was unbelievable to see how VER was running through Blanchimont and Bus stop chicane in FP1/FP2 ... what a flat car/aero platform they achieved to do ... no bouncing/porpoising, no bleeping/odd movements and most of all how much damping this RB18 has now compared to other cars around ...
If he does take a new version he will be subject to a penalty? Correct? So if there is no penalties relating to the ERS/CE then we can safely assume today they implemented the new system

He will have a penalty if he takes a new PU element because he's over the limit of allowed penalty free PU elements. We haven't got official confirmation yet about the use/introduction of the new spec ERS.
