Surely the RB’s can’t be 1.3-1.4 seconds off the pace. Never seen that all season
With the lack of running in FP1 it's entirely possible they need a bit more time to dial in the car. I don't think anyone suspects they'll be 1.4 seconds off the 1 lap pace tomorrow.

Did Max get a new gearbox for FP2?
If so will he have a grid penalty?
The rules have changed for 2022. As I understand it there’s now a pool of 4 gearboxes and casings for the year. You can use them and change them without penalty until you need number 5, then the penalties start.

Yeah, I imagine they will find some pace and will be at the top come tomorrow.

There was a FIA doc about one of the seals being broken on Max’s car through the week. I wonder if that was the box we seen in FP1

Don't get your hopes up  . I don't think they are that far off. Basically they tuned the car for the hard tire during FP1 w/ Checo. Hard tire is too hard and won't be used in the race. Tomorrow they will setup the car for the medium and soft tire.

What is missing from RB theatrics today was Max calling his engineer telling him that the car is bad.
Reminds me MB in all the hybrid era.
I really hope i am wrong but in the life of me i cannot accept a car that is faster 1 sec from all the field in race pace in SPA, suddenly is bad.
I will wait the race, if they will loose or win by a tiny margin, this will support a bit my case.
Offcourse i can be wrong :) but i feel that RB holds back for specific reasons.

Yeah, I agree. This totally smells like a play out of the Mercedes playbook of old:

Friday - "The car is just rubbish, the competition is really on the ball. We'll have to work hard into the night to find pace".
Saturday - Team comes in and dominates the last few minutes of FP3 and Quali.

Lewis when asked about RB pace shrugged his shoulders and said they’ve got 6 tenths in hand when they want to use it. I shouldn’t worry about the RB pace.

Probably a very fair comment about the 6 tenths.

As others did, you don’t see a car that’s 1 seconds clear of the others at least lose a second to the others in front.

It’s a shame we missing the data analysis we used to get

Apparently FOM had a massive timing issue today.

He meant that RB have 6/10ths in hand, not him/ Mercedes.

Thank God we don't have it! That was utter rubbish, getting data out of arse without knowledge to connect with was was happening in race and reasons about car's pace in given time...

And even then, why talk about lap time in tenths, this is a short circuit, better estimate pace difference in percentages.

I expect a FER pole, race pace may be closee.
