What is missing from RB theatrics today was Max calling his engineer telling him that the car is bad.
Reminds me MB in all the hybrid era.
I really hope i am wrong but in the life of me i cannot accept a car that is faster 1 sec from all the field in race pace in SPA, suddenly is bad.
I will wait the race, if they will loose or win by a tiny margin, this will support a bit my case.
Offcourse i can be wrong :) but i feel that RB holds back for specific reasons.
Yeah, I agree. This totally smells like a play out of the Mercedes playbook of old:

Friday - "The car is just rubbish, the competition is really on the ball. We'll have to work hard into the night to find pace".
Saturday - Team comes in and dominates the last few minutes of FP3 and Quali.
Well.... we saw what happened at Cota last year... ham 1 sec ahead of max after fp2... max goes on to win the race

that was pretty unusual. Merc run a high engine mode (for them) on friday and had to back off their ride height after friday due to the bumps. Most fps were fairly representative last year

What a pleasant change to watch this non-typical (non-tilke) circuit.
Unique, maybe not perfect but unique

Max had a terrible S2 on his attempt with fresh tyres. With that kind of top speed advantage and still being on par with the fastest in S2 on a normal lap, it’s a certain Max pole again.

In my fantasy tea I’ve gone for Charles.

With a max, Charles Russell podium. But tempted to change it to a Max poke after looking at that speed trap data
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

Merc seemed to be running much more engine than both the Ferrari and red bull.

900rpm more for Russell to leclerc before the braking into turn 1.

Interestingly, despite a 3-400rpm lower, the red bull is much faster on speed.

You’re assuming they’re running the same gear ratios.

So many dumb people among the fans throwing smoke bombs onto the track. Every country has dumb fans but it seems the dumb ones here a not put in check here!!

And these Dutch pigeons are probably braver than the New York ones!

You can leave it up to Dutch fans to cause a Red Flag. Last time a fan caused a Red Flag I believe was in Singapore, 2012 or something? Absolutely ridiculous.
Real fans don't throw stuff on the track. Anyone who does that is a disgrace to the sport and totally unrepresentative for most of the people present right now.
