Just watched russell's onboard and he didn't lift as far as I could tell
Be interesting to see.

If I have chosen the right lap for telemetry, lap 17 @ 1:11.264 it does show a lift compared to his 1:10.8 lap

I think Leclerc probably cooked his tyres by the time he went into 9, 10. He had no grip and ran wide out of 9

Just my quick takeaway from people bashing Dutch fans. It's more of a case of non-F1 fans that come to the races due to the popularity of it in Holland due to their rising star and go for the partying. F1 viewership has grew enormously within the last 6 years and a lot of those people are casual viewers and are more likely going to the races for the experience then the racing. Mix that with partying and alcohol and you get semantics

<mod edit:
The rant mentioned here has been removed, so it appears to be missing now. Racism, country-ism, same-same, not tolerated here.
And this post is a beautiful example of how to make the same point in a respectful manner without insulting millions of people>
It is the organizers fault as well. You should not be able to carry the flares to any mass event. F1 is currently allowing for that for whatever reason but It should be banned eventually.

It already is banned. Security seems to be poor though.

should be one option, but half of the teams at least seem to prefer a different one

Yes maybe a M/H race. Max has fresh softs which nobody else has, but if S/M/M isn't an option then I don't see him using them

Whenabouts did they say that? Bc that is interesting. Ofc the C1 will suck, but the track seems to be eating tyres this year

Sainz said in high deg because of heat spikes around the lap. I tend to agree with you. I could even see Merc going hard medium tomorrow. It's a short run to turn one so won't be much room to overtake into 1

Red Bull overestimates Hard tyre
"We drastically overestimated the value of the Hard tyres," Marko explained to media including RacingNews365.com.

"We felt good on those tyres, when we thought we would have not grip on those tyres."

However, Marko admits this lulled Red Bull into a sense of false security, with the team struggling for balance and pace.

"At the moment, we have don't have a good balance, no grip, and the tyres overheated way too quickly.

"[Sergio] Perez had all those problems in first practice, but we thought it was just his Friday form. Often it is not very impressive.

"The hard tyre probably won't even be used during the race - that's why we drove on it right at the start of FP1 - because we wanted to get rid of it.

"We were at the front on those tyres, so we thought we were in a good position."

It didn't seem like a high deg circuit when Max used 1 tire to get into Q3.

his longrun on Softs in FP3 was good as well:

7 10:11.750
8 1:16.885
9 1:17.369
10 1:17.157
11 1:17.040
12 1:17.522
13 1:17.218
14 1:17.038
15 1:16.459
16 P 1:21.521

but Haas for example had high degradation in FP2:

15 9:40.610
16 1:17.787
17 1:18.134
18 1:18.673
19 1:19.121
20 1:19.686
21 1:19.513

Wonder if that 1 new sets of reds for Ver gives him some advantage due to strategy?

How do you prevent people taking flares in if they really want to? You can’t strip search 100,000 people…

What you can do is identify people, eject them from the venue and ban them from future events.
