Just 24 points needed for Max ahead of Charles in order to secure the title. Mathmatically possible to take the trophy for WDC at Singapore if Max finishes 1st and Charles P10 or Max 1st with Fastest lap and Charles P9.

What a drive from Max today, lightening pace.

Max Max Max Super Max Max Super Super Max Max Max!

Sir Verstappen is just flying with his Adrian Newey Designed RB18 with RedBull wings and HondaJet engine!

We can't let up though, need to finish the season strong.

However they finish the season, they are going to finish first.

The way I see it, the only race that I see stopping Max get 9 in a row is Singapore. If he can win Singapore, Suzuka and USA should be a walk with the aero efficiency the RB18 has. I'm really excited to see what records he has beaten by the season is over

Question is - whether or not RBR will start develop for 2023 as soon as WDC and WTC will be absolutely safe and how then they will be running.

Isn't it that the winning team gets less CFD and wind tunnel testing time? In that case using part of this years budget for next year would very helpful.

Oh, my friend, they are already in full steam developing next year's car, like probably most of the teams.

But a full works return for Honda is now on the cards.

“That is being negotiated,” Marko said. “I will be flying to Tokyo between the Singapore and Suzuka races in early October.”
This is probably for '23 - '25

Remember what the HRC guy said in July, iirc? about wanting the return of Honda on the car for 2023 and negotiations need to start.

The Honda partnership is looking increasingly better.
I am not sure how this would work with the RBPT engine plant and Red Bull making their own engines in '26, but Honda on the side of the car would be nice. They effectively still are with a lot of the engine support still coming from them.

Im praying for a Max win in Japan so we can get the chief engineer on the podium again, Makoto Yoshino-san, which would be well received in front of the home crowd.

RBPT: combustion engine
HRC: electrical and battery’s

The only problem is where it’s manufactured and put together. RBPT would like it to be all build in England but is Honda willing to do that

Under the new regulations, the ERS and the ICE are quite separate systems. I don't see the issue with Honda continuing to have the ERS shipped from Japan.

Christian Horner denied the existence of a light weight chassis for Singapore during post race interview on Sky. Not sure I believe him. Max practically said it's true after Spa and there was even rumors of crash testing having taken place.

It's possible they decided not to build it up and save the budget for next year. Championships just need the bow ties now.

They also maybe don't want to show all their cards given the FIA is prone to leveling the competition by regulatory means.

Best play is to move as much 2023 spending into the 2022 budget as possible. So end full development on this year's car, and focus on next year. Bringing the 2023 chassis to the last race of 2022 might be the way to boost 2023.

Depending on when/if the championship is secured they could attempt it at several races. I'll need a reminder on how chassis are homologated/certified and whether or not it is comparable to drivetrain components.
