Not really because it doesnt increase(the FIA display) when they brake which is how the KERS recharges... we all know the KERS does not recharge by the car just passing over the start/finish line.

I'm aware of that - I mean, it displays the energy left of the 400kJ for that lap by the ECU.

Am I seeing it wrong or is it really a really complex horseshoe shape for the DDD? I would assume the flow at the exit would be terribly turbulent, resulting in a messy drive. Any insights?

There is even some white body filler in the inside corners of the first vanes off center. Done at the track I would guess.
