What's the point in waiting so long. It'll be dry by then
At least we got a time now and I can go do something else.

F1 is a complete joke. This morning I watched a MotoGP race. As ever, they disregard wet conditions and just go and race. They have full wets that they actually use…

Given the shorter race window, it’s only going to take a single safety car and presumably we are going to be looking at reduced laps?

On a lighter note, Natalie looks like she would be a lot of fun.

Can understand the delay. Tbh, if it’s wet, there’s likely to be massive crashes, especially with the spray. That would just cause red flags and numerous SC’s, eating up time. At least in the dry, that should mean we actually get some actual racing

This 1 hour delay seems stupid. The track is practically dry. I wonder if they are aiming for a full grid start ceremony.

By the live feed the track is not submerged under water. I do not see where is the point of running this sport. Clearly they arent able to do it anymore. They dont want any new teams, and they are unable to have a race on a damp track. My bet would be that they are not running due to the cost cap and possible mayhem that could happen in the wet street circuit... This is what you get with a budget race series.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Sounds like it.

The "Start procedure" starts now (20:05) and goes on for 20 minutes
pit lane opens 20:25 for 10 minutes, formation lap 30 minutes after that.

When the SC was going around the track most of it looked like inters already apart from a few select corners - they could easily be racing right the f now. This is just pathetic.

With those cars we were looking at reduced laps even in the dry with a short VSC period - in those damp conditions they won't do a full distance in 1h50, with or without any SC/VSC

I dont understand it. All of the drivers are hardcore professionals, born and trained to drive in all conditions. Drivers were able to drive in the wet 20,30,40 years ago with relics on 4 wheels. Drivers today cant drive in the wet in the safest racecars ever and safet tracks.

It will be dry by the time we start. Embarrassing from FIA once again. Monaco and this race proves they are operationally disastrous

The MotoGP start was one-hour delayed as well due to the rain

They want delays, more commercial time, this is the new thing, extending coverage time is too good for them to turn down. Of course it's all under the guise of a H&S decision.
