Makes you wonder what they design and bring a wet tyre for really.
Did you see the SC running on track 10 minutes before the initially scheduled race start? The track looked fine to race on, not all that different to an hour later - the only issue was seemingly some standing water in a few select corners but that would have been gone quickly ...chrisc90 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 21:32Makes you wonder what they design and bring a wet tyre for really.
There was absolutely no reason why the race couldnt have got underway at the scheduled time.
Yeah I seen it. Pretty wet. But that was over a hour away from the start procedure/pitlane open with no further rain incoming. I definitely dont think it deserved a full 1hr 5mins delay.RZS10 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 21:38Did you see the SC running on track 10 minutes before the initially scheduled race start? I cant see why the cars werent allowed to form up on the grid by doing the recon/sighting laps. The race technically hasnt started as no formation laps have been completed so they could have got away with not starting the timer until the lights actually went green.
Indeed very strange they could have done a few formation laps behind the sc on full wets to clear the standing water.chrisc90 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 22:01I cant see why the cars werent allowed to form up on the grid by doing the recon/sighting laps. 'They' said the track was recently resurfaced, and as it is a road when it is not a track, why was it not cambered to clear the standing water?Sofa King wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 22:58NASCAR uses the Air Titan system with compressed air on trucks to reduce track drying time by 80%. Why can’t F1 do this? I get that F1 cars should be able to run in the wet better, but is that still true as they get heavier and stiffer? Yes, I love America. https://green.nascar.com/news-media/nas ... echnology/
more shocking is perez driving alongside the safety car telling him to hurry up , while there are marshalls on track cleaning up debry , maybe even in more places then perez knows , disrespectful
