Earthquake... New estimates are 10 million. Let's see where it goes.

That's huge. So can we say that Max has won last season's title and will win this season's title each in an illegal car in terms of how much resources they put in?

Maybe we should start the rumour they were 15million over budget. Or maybe we can do a lucky dip with random numbers in a bag and claim that's how much they were over.

Im still wondering if the teams can adjust their budget to fit in with inflation as I posted a page or 2 back, given the regs do make reference to indexation.

So, how are they guesstimating that this year's car is illegal/over budget? The season is not over yet and maybe if RBR think they are over, they can skip a few races, but wont that break the concorde agreement?

I think they were allowed an excess of $3M due to inflation. Plus the pound has dropped and they will need to factor all this in.

Where do you get the $3m from due to inflation? It looks very complicated in terms of factoring in inflation and not very clear at all in the regs for the season in question. See my earlier post, or thread tonight on the cost cap for my take on the inflation side.

Not $3 m, but 3.1%
"Teams will now be allowed to spend 3.1 per cent more than the previous limit - which was set at $140m."

https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433 ... %20%24140m.

The only official news is:"Media reports Dietrich Mateschnitz is probably seriously ill"
With none of them reporting sources other then other media outlets....
Initial source seems to be RTL/NTV quoting own sources/reporters.

You can even say they had a secret jet engine bolted under Max's arse with which he has been winning, until FIA provides an official statement. :D

Exaclty. It's so bad that even Red Bull fans avoid this topic to discuss last race.

It is a becoming a sad story everything around the F1, fans, some team bosses, politics.. Good thing we have some nice races going around. I try avoid every news site these days, it is all click baits, personal opinions trying to convince others and make a mess. Social media these days is destroying everything.

The race shouldn't be discussed in this topic anyway. This is a the team thread, not the race thread.
