Mario Isola also mentioned that next year in two races they will trial only giving teams:

- 2x hard tyres for Q1,
- 2x mediums for Q2,
- 2x softs for Q3.
Does this make sense? A total allocation for Q makes sense as a backmarker goes on Soft while the top teams have to use Hard in Q1....but everyone on Hard in Q1???
Don`t russel the hamster!

Reverse setup would be so much better. Imagine the madness in Q1 and Q2, top teams giving it all on mediums and used softs in Q2 so they could use fresh softs in Q3. Talk about mixing up the grid with that
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I think qualifying is already extremely fun/interesting and plenty of things happen to shake up the order already! Find it surprising they want even more :wtf:

What has daft tyre allocations got to do with racial and social injustice?

Qualifying is the best bit of the weekend some times. This apparent need to constantly change things is becoming very boring.

If they insist on trying to "mix things up" then just do it properly and have random grid allocations - draw grid slots out of a hat. It could be a nice big sparkly hat to keep the new fans interested. Perhaps have the drivers bungee down and try to grab their grid number from the hat on the bounce. That could be fun! Yeah! Wow! F1 is sooooo cooooolll!

Sad part is I think Domenicalli wouldn't detect the sarcasm/bad faith in the suggestion at first    it is a shame the direction we go in right now. I won't say anything bad about Pirelli as they'll just be doing exactly what F1 want them to

Nothing surprises me nowadays. Stefano Domenicali has just recently claimed points should be made available for Friday practice sessions (jesus christ), with results turned into a qualifying structure for a Saturday morning reverse grid race. (Oh dear god)

Can only fear what F1 will eventually turn into over the next decade.

As for the race, glad it will be dry. Just want to see a clean race, no SC interruptions, and drivers just either rewarded or punished for their performances.

Are you sure it's a bias and not a fetish?

Interesting running today. I was expecting the Ferrari's to be much closer but it looks like they're not comfortable at the moment. I wonder if the Merc's pace is real or if they've turned up the engine for this.
