Good call by AT. Easily the best chance to replace Checo in a few years.

=D> nice step for Nyck. And he takes mercedes experience (as current test and sim driver) with him. Question is whether the relative pace of AT will be improved next year. This year at the back of the midfield is a bit mediocre.

He just needs to beat Yuki and show good one lap speed. That would put him a step closer to RB seat.

Perez is solid, but they definitely need to groom a younger replacement that had more speed.

Nice little bit of sportmanship from Max to recommend him to Marko.

I think there might also be a little bit of the 'poaching Mercedes staff' that went with it aswell, given the staff that have moved over from Merc to Red Bull.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

"The technical knowledge and the fact that De Vries can quickly adapt to different cars are two other factors that Marko considers to be of added value. "I was very impressed with the on-board radios when he got into Sebastian Vettel 's car . I listened to the radio and the comments he made were very good," said Marko in the paddock
In fact, he already sees De Vries as team leader before 2023 and not Yuki Tsunoda , who has more F1 experience after all. "Absolutely. Yuki is still young and doesn't have that experience technically, so Nyck can lead the team. We'll see how it goes next year in practice, but judging by his experience and personality, Nyck should be the team leader.
Seems Marko expects a fair bit from Nyck! Already a team leader in his eyes

With Yuki being Yuki, it would be on Nyck to lead the team with all his exprience of various racing series. This is a great opportunity for Nyck.
