You know whats funny, If they had pit Max for fastest lap, he would have still made 50% distance, would have probably got fastest lap and would have won the title with the different points system

Lol this rule is terrible. So in case they RESUME the race and race only 5 laps (for example), they still give full points.
Exactly. Why would they word the rules this way.
just like they worded the safety car rules last AD.... in the pursuit of thoroughness they creat more confusion.... 1 step forward 2 steps back

Well because it was made to deal with the problem that happened with Spa 2021. That what happens when you write regulations to deal with a problem, you forget other scenarios

Congratulations to Max on a dominant race win and also the championship. Too bad that Ferrari failed to keep up the challenge.

wasn't the race one lap too short? Rules only clarify the 2-hour situation, like in Singapore, in which case there would have been another lap - but I would have expected it to be the same when hitting the 3 hour window:

"should two hours elapse before the scheduled race distance is completed, the leader will be shown the end-of-session signal when he crosses the control line (the Line) at the end of the lap following the lap during which the two (2) hour period ended"

According to live timing, Verstappen made it over the line with 0:04 on the clock, but the race still finished at the end of that lap instead of the following one.

Understatement, that’s it’s been underwhelming. It’s been a woeful season. RB & Max have been brilliant, and, unfortunately, everyone else failed to turn up. FIA also have continued to embarrass themselves and the sport. Sooner this season is over the better really. Shame, after last year.
I think why some feel this season was disappointing is just so many factors.

- F1 had arguably one of the best seasons it has ever had in 2021.
- Pre-season testing showed Ferrari were back and RB were right alongside. Giving excitement to Charles first genuine chance at a WDC.
- Excitement that Mercedes were no longer at the front end, so many fans were glad to see the era come to a full end.
- The AMAZINGLY close racing at Bahrain and Saudi followed on from the action packed end of the previous season. Giving fans confidence and excitement about the new regs but also for the excitement of another year of a high-level championship rivalry between two drivers who have raced each other their whole lives.

BUT

-Ferrari imploded, both strategically and mechanically. Charles made key mistakes in which Max fully capitalised on.
- General actions of the FIA this season just makes them feel so amateurish, with often both sides of the decision unhappy even if they were the beneficiary.
-I do think that the slipstream loss of these new regs is a larger issue that people realise, especially as seen today when it's non-DRS conditions.
- But the biggest reason why this season disappointed is because Max and RB did the job they had to do and absolutely no one could even see them, let alone touch them. A true credit to the driver and the team, that car truly is the class of the field and such a strong foundation will allow them to be favourites for next year also.

Remember all those people who were calling for Masi's head and how it would improve afterwards? Yeah. How do you feel now? :>

Congratulations to Max. It's been a well deserved title. No doubt about that.

The FIA making complete clowns of themselves on almost every occasion is another story. Horrible managing overall. Every race there is a big question mark regarding certain decisions. What a shame.

I think everyone is missing the big story of this race. Latifi scored points, meaning he is no longer 22nd in a 20 car championship

So many can take ice bucket challenge today and tomorrow with ease. :D
Well, tomorrow is the FIA's next attempt to announce something. Any bets on how that's going to turn out?
My 2 cents. Some people have already made up their mind about the falsehood and even if FIA does a diligent job and gives clean chit, it would wreak havoc to those as they expected the script to play out as per the "rumours".

I already mentioned in the cost cap thread, it's a complex process and is being done for the first time. As rumoured, If FIA is having Forensic Accountants finding something, Red Bull can hire another group of Forensic Accountants to challenge it. Each organization has a experienced and expert set of people governing finance & legal and Red Bull is no different. It's hard to believe that team would have done a shoddy job of providing proof of their spend and have left their rear exposed for screwing. So it's not a child's play. Invariably, both sides would shake hands and resolve, "if" they have seen differences.

Let's see if it's anticlimax to my prediction, well, let's get a ship container full of popcorn.

Max and red bull in a different league and thoroughly deserved. FIA have not had a great week, the delaying of the cost cap report until Monday, the tractor on track and the debacle at the end, once again makes the sport seem a bit of a joke. Even bigger questions will be raised if problems are found with red bulls budget. Especially as I’ve never seen what leclerc did penalised the first time it happens, particularly in the wet. But if that’s the new standard, no doubt we’ll see it repeated going forwards
