Toyota even ran their hole this year, as did Ferrari.

Also, mod, that translation is remarkably accurate. "We have a hole in it. Nobody else does." is literally what he says.

Is Whitmarsh being serious? Obviously other teams have that hole in their rear wings, McLaren is actually one of the last teams to run it. Inventive? Not at all.

Check out the endplate "slits" though.. they've extended them into the main profile area.

Toyota had their hole in the central portion of the wing to prevent the wing from stalling.

Would the position (of the hole) on the wing serve a different purpose as its mounted to the front of the lower profile? To me, the wing would start to stall at the highest angle of attack...

thoughts?

I'm a bit surprised that the slits are legal. I would think they constitute of "more than two closed sections" in this kind of area.

I think the thing about a mini-diffusor of sorts is bs, they just have a three element wing there.

The 2 closed sections are only applicable from 75mm either side of the centre line to 375mm either side of it.

And the rearwing is 400mm wide? So 2.5cm to play around, thanks.

No, the rear wing is 750mm wide (375mm either side of the centre line). They have a 150mm wide section in the middle of the wing to play with.

Well then I'm still surprised how their endplates are legal. The middle part is clearly legal (as is toyota, Sauber, ForceIndia....), but the slits in their endplates no protrude into the wing where there should be only two elements.

Well they have a maximum limit of 750mm width 200mm above the reference plane but are also required to have the endplates. It's a compromise. Also it is 75mm and 355mm, not 75mm and 375mm.

Okay, monaco, another weekend to forget.

And PLEASE fire kovalainen, he's no good despite being the most nicest guy of the entire grid. As long as he drives at mcl, mcl never will become wcc.

Okay about turkey, hold tight!: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsp ... 066342.stm

not good
I don't get it why mcl is taking so long to fix the issue. Fer prove that they can do it (creating more downforce) and mcl is so famous for their upgrade speed... Well it seems, they are not getting on top of their problems. Hami said a couple of races ago that he would be going for the win in silverstone. Now in this article he seems less enthousiastic. we'll struggle the next few races... he said and now norbert haug says they'll need 2 months, so that's one month after the britsh gp.

Please mcl, wake up, stop losing time and start preparing the 25!

Sorry, I know you guys are Hamilton fanboys, but doesn't it seem a bit ironic to ask for Kovalainen's release when Hamilton is the one who botched his qualifying due to his own mistakes?
