The other 9 teams would have had the same issue.
Without knowing exactly what those items are, and how much each item costs each individual team, I dont think its fair to pass comment that 9 others managed it but one didn't.

You couldn't expect Williams or Haas to have the same costs on certain lines are the top 3 teams. It could be wages. Could you image a aero engineer for Williams being paid the same as a one for Red Bull? That's like a premiership footballer being paid the same as a non-league team player for example.
Your football analogy is wrong because both Redbull and Williams are in the equivalent of the premier league seeing as F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport.
Secondly seeing as we’re talking spare parts I suspect the costs are very similar between the teams, it’s not like a front wing is going to cost HAAS considerably less to produce than Redbull
You reckon a top aero guy is on a similar wage between Williams and RedBull/Mercedes? Who does the likes of Newey compare to at Williams? For example. There will be significant wage differences between a team at the sharp end, and a one that just plays along in competing without being at the sharp end of the grid.

Yes there will be but Newey’s wage is exempt so your point is moot.

Highly likely the wage cost is similar between all the teams, the difference is the number of employees and resources available to them.

From what I gather, F1 isn’t a particularly wage competitive industry

Newey is one of RB’s top 3 earners so your point is moot. Even so that doesn’t make your football analogy correct because like I said RB and Williams are competing in the same “league”

Maybe Newey was the wrong person to use as a example, but should have used likes of Dan Fallows, Hannah Schmitz to name a couple examples.

Personally id be very surprised if the comparable equilivant's are on similar/identical wages between the top teams and the lower ones.

There are of course many other possibilities it could be, and I dont think we will find out until RB reach an agreement with the FIA

Its not though. I mean do you think a footballer at Wolves, Leeds, Nottingham Forrest will be on the same wage as the boys from Man City as a example?

The exact reason the likes of Verstappen, Lewis, Charles etc get paid a LOT more money than Latifi, Albon, Schumacher. Hey, they competing in the same league, you'd expect similar wages.

Exact same reason why those cars arent as competitive as those at the sharp end of the grid....they lack the talent to design a better car thats able to compete for wins. Those staff will earn more money than those at the lower end of the grid. Guaranteed.

I started following F1 in 2011. I love the competition on and off the track. Throughout the years, there has always been controversy. But this enormous polarisation recently in the media and social networks is just shocking. Name-calling instead of objective discussion. I can only hope that everyone will come to their senses again and respectful interaction will take place. When you hear that this mess is also being carried out on the backs of children, then something is going very wrong!
Whatever the outcome will be, I'd appreciate a more professional than click-bait approach.

I specifically left my own opinion out of that post to leave it as a short summary of a few points in the press conference ...

To me it sounds like Red Bull (to some degree) relied on alternative interpretations of the financial regulations and thus left some margin fully expecting some of it not to stand - some of those interpretations were maybe even accepted, some of them (as it currently stands) were not, leading to the breach as their margin ended up not being big enough.

Ideally no team would leave a "significant" portion of the budget untapped, so RB's approach must have brought them some form of advantage, otherwise it wouldn't even be worth taking the risk, no?
The other teams (McL at the very least) asked the FIA whether their interpretations were correct and went right up to the cap limit, which is something one would normally expect, maximizing it.

Shocking. It will get to the point when drivers wont bother to go to events like this on race weekends.

Can also see future cost cap stuff being sorted out behind closed doors to stop things like that

If rumour mill is correct, can we name them Farce International association?
If the rumour mill is correct, we also need to remember this whole thing came out through a leak.
Confirmed by FIA though...

Sure, but as said, it could be it was rushed as everyone was waiting for a formal statement after the leaks. We'll see.

You know for 100% sure that is the case? Lets see what the outcome is from the talks between the FIA and RBR.

Even then, that sort of behaviour shouldnt be condoned. Its just outright unacceptable, regardless if there is any breach or not.
