A very sad day yesterday. They heard it an hour before qualifying.

My condolences to you RB peeps, without him F1 truly would be much more hollow, and many other sports in the world have thanks for Dietrich and his brand. Your constructor success today will be the perfect way to honour his memory.

Max and Checo are running different wing levels, perhaps with Checo's set up being more favorable for S3. The cooling track and wind would have also been slightly disadvantageous to Max's set up, but he seems pretty confident for race pace. The race will probably see a safety car of some sort and strategy will definitely come into play with tyre choice especially the last stint.
Both drivers are using the medium load wing this weekend. They both switched to it today. Checo had the high load wing only for yesterday.
They were not in Q. Checo switched back to high DF wing.
Okay if you've seen it, then I will go with that but why didn't Max go with the high downforce wing? There's very little difference in the straightline speed between the two cars in the Q3 laps.

He had the medium downforce wing on all weekend, so really it was the direction max was always going in. Given at Zandvoort with more downforce requirement than COTA, max preferred the medium wing level. Maybe it comes partly from a difference in strategy. Max maybe goes for a 3-stop accepting the higher deg whilst Perez will attempt a 2-stop with the more tyre-preserving higher df package? Or it could come from max preferring the less stable rear end in higher speed unlike Checo

This is the bad side of the greater exposure by Netflix. A Pantomime is set.

If they had a higher load rear wing, couldn't they just re-balance by increasing the front wing angle?

Any thoughts on if Red Bull will stay in F1 after his passing?

Maybe just 1 team going forward?

Nothing is going to change at all. Mr. Mateschitz had been ill for a long time and has arranged everything himself, so that everything can continue as normal.

That's good to hear! I feared that a "board decision" was imminent...πŸ˜’

Neither team cost money anymore due to the cost cap and sponsorship deals. (Although the engine stuff probably cost something)
