Mexico City has extended its F1 deal until, 2025.
Like the track, but the stadium section is awful. Should just connect T12 to the main straight, or just redesign it.
The stadium section is there because of the people watching the race at the track. Lots of seats = lots of revenue for the track owner.
If I remember right they couldn't keep the Peraltada in with the current cars as the run off would have to eat into the road next to it
Would it be much different if they had just stuck grandstands on the inside and the outside of the peraltada?
They could only be on the inside - there's no room on the outside. The view watching a car go around there wouldn't be that much fun for most of the Netflix generation of fans. The stadium section, like the same thing at Hockenheim, slows the cars down and brings them together which looks like they might be in close racing.AR3-GP wrote: ↑27 Oct 2022, 23:22Would it be much different if they had just stuck grandstands on the inside and the outside of the peraltada?

It's not just grandstands, the whole area is well serviced for the original use. There are conveniences, vendors, acces and safety etc plus any extra work done for GP carries over to weekly benefit to the owners.AR3-GP wrote: ↑27 Oct 2022, 23:22Would it be much different if they had just stuck grandstands on the inside and the outside of the peraltada?
I like the stadium section and main straight but hate everything else. It's just a big nothing burger at the other parts of track.
That's what I'm saying, it isn't the size it's the efficiency thanks to CB2 (piping)Bill wrote: ↑27 Oct 2022, 10:44i think you got things the wrong way around .red bull always did well in Mexico because the high drag high rake was not a disadvantage at high altitude and Renault also has a big turbo that works well at that altitude.the Honda has an efficient turbo it docent necessary means is big.
I disagree. After trying the game in simulator, I really like the 2nd sector. IMO stadium is the worst part. It feels like it doesn't belong there.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 04:53I like the stadium section and main straight but hate everything else. USA shows that FP2 isn't neccesary. FIA could learn something to fix the sprint formatting. FP1 and FP3 as open setup sessions. Do whatever they like outside of that. Sprint weekend made FP3 pointless, but it should not be that way.
