tbh... I'm (and my friends as well) a bit appalled by Verstappen's action last lap... he had nothing to lose and could've done a lot of "good" for Perez and the team. As a long term Verstappen fan I really don't understand this.

Gratz to Mercedes, they earned it this weekend!

It wasn't just disrespectful to Perez, it was to the entire time. There's one thing not doing it, its completely another level saying it over the radio.

Perez was actually pushing hard when Max was overtaking him, prolly not what was planned from him at that point. I can understand Max in this situation.
Yeah I was surprised by that into turn 1. It must have given Max the wrong impression?

Still Max should have played the long game here imho. Stands to lose more than to gain from it.

Absolutely, you've got to be clever. Help Checo when your own result doesn't matter, and Checo pays it forward happily.

Absolutely no need to be ruthless though. I understand finishing where you finish on merit, but that was disappointing really. Its a team sport - but clearly Max was annoyed that race overall and put the ME in team - instead of helping checo with 2 extra points

Max sounds like an absolute a-hole here.

Also shows why imo talent is not the only reason his team mates will never challenge him.

He has been given so much authority.

Happy to see my team get a 1-2 really came down to that amazing lap George did in qualifying despite being second to last out on track with the rain coming down definitely worth a watch.

But let’s focus on 1st time race winner Georgie boy! Congrats to everyone in the Merc camp. As a Neutral this HAS to be good news for the state of F1. Delighted for George. Great to see the emotion

Wow, what a total d**k. Obviously already forgotten all about what Checo did to help him in AD21.

Hey, Checo, how are you going to play it next year if Max needs help?

Yeah, I imagine that call to let Checo back through will have originated from Christian.

Maybe Christian should have been on the radio to re-assert GP.

That's set the seeds for next year when Max might need some help if the others are competing from race 1.

I'll admit, I thought Hamilton would eat George alive after the safety car. George has a steely nerve. No mistakes. They were saying he was so calm on the radio. He needs more drives like this though to really win people over.

Will have come from the top. Max's race engineer would have been thinking only about Max's race and wouldn't have tried to do team strategy like that. Will Horner tear a strip off Max? Will Max listen?
