Merc losing massively in sector 2. Are they that slow on the straights?
Where have u been all year? Back at sea level now so it's back to usual drag issues.
Indeed.

Only possibility I can see for them is tyre deg with the tyres being the softest for this weekend, but RB race pace looks fast and consistent.

I have a feeling that Checo will be ahead by the end of the first lap and Max will just manage the pack tomorrow.
No chance of max giving Perez a win, as long as Perez is ahead of Leclerc then max doesn't have to do anything

I know they are draggy, just 5-6 tenths of drag is crazy.
Visually they went for their big RW while Ferrari and RBR have mid level of downforce.

It's about standard for this year tbf, especially on a track layout like this

Who knows. The start is crucial. If RB think the race pace is close between LEC and PER then it makes sense to let him go off into the distance whilst max stays back.

Who knows, there is a lot of scenarios that will be getting run through the simulators overnight.

Its pointless Max cruising off into the distance if Checo is under pressure from Charles.

Max needed to tow Perez for the result, when Perez needed to do it on his own he did not make it. So probably Max will be towing Perez to the finish.

Interesting how Red Bull are fast now they're given 3 sessions but give them 1 session and they struggle with tyre wear and end up not winning the race (Austria and Brazil).

I wonder how much time Hamilton lost with that snap coming out of turn 14, not ideal at all.

Ferrari will be slower than Mercedes tomorrow and Red Bull will be faster than Mercedes. No way of Checo winning.

Probably very little. Tenth or 2 at the most. Where he placed is relative to the cars performance.

That’s why we do that 6 times next year.

Lewis had a really scrappy two Q3 laps, the rear end was all over, car a handfull.

Hamilton beats Russell

Try and twist that, Harty71 😂
Ham had a small moment in the final sector too.

There is no doubt who the faster driver is at Merc. <personal stuff removed>

So mercs drag issues are a slam dunk fact. Does anyone still believe they were lying about that?

Rbr to dominate tomorrow. As expected. Ham can still finish on the podium but Charles might make it difficult.

As I thought, still, a substantial loss in lap time, wouldn't have made a difference position wise but still nice to see it on the stopwatch.

He was 3 tenths up according to Bonnington. So Sainz was possible.
