Frustrating P2 for Hamilton, how many times this season as he had a promising P1, messed with the car and dropped back, happens all too often with him.

Russell looking like the only one that can maybe challenge Max, still, I think the RB are just too fast this weekend.

And the only result that should be discussed is the final finishing position. Everything else is irrelevant.
So according to your theory, Perez is better than Max at Monaco, Jeddah, basically street tracks?

He got a better result. So you could say he had a better race.

You know... people will go to any length to discuss their favourite driver. If he didnt win the race or score more points, the driver was faster on race pace, if they retired they had engine trouble or a incident caused by something else. If it wasnt race pace or a incident then they won the race on merit. If the driver finishes lower in the WDC then they will look for some other reason to not look at the standings

People will always use one or the other to idolise their favourite driver.

As I said, its irrelevant what happened if they dont score the points. The whole sport is based on FINISHING POSITION. You dont see Williams getting top credit because they finish 10th but they had the fastest car in a straight line.

Context matters a lot. Ricciardo is better than Max based on your theory because he beat him in more seasons than Max beat him.

You can't just look at finishing positions. They're simply a guide to who was enjoying successful performance. They don't explain anything else. Context matters in this sport because people want to prop up a driver but the drivers performance hinges on his teams performance on track and in making a good car that works. If the car is slow, the driver will go slower. If the team is consistent, the driver can deliver consistent results and vice versa.

According to your theory, Hamilton is unquestionably better by miles than anyone else except Michael because he finished in front of everyone over a hundred times and few are close to that. Are you not going to talk about 'merc dominance' when we say that?

I'm saying context matters when determining who did better and why they did better. If its because Russell is just a better and faster driver, why is he out qualified in the head to head, and why does his results still hinge on in the pit overtakes with lucky timed safety cars?

I'm not saying Russell is bad. Its just too soon to judge anything about them and set it in stone.

People who think Sainz is better than Leclerc because he finished ahead in one season last year, would not be taken seriously after comparing leclerc and Sainz performance this year.

and What about Danny Ricciardo? if Max lost to Ricciardo as a young teammate, would Norris demolish Max too? I doubt it but it would be an epic contest.

Mercedes started and ended the year very much at the same deficit to pole.

You can hear it when they go to the onboard cameras.

Bouncing yes, porpoising no.
What do you think is creating the bouncing, it is very rhythmic. Are they simply pushing the ride heights to a minimum?

They are pretty stiffly sprung, and trying to run as low as possible as their concept is compromised till they design and build a new car. So any bump, will set of an oscillation.

Porpoising is self driving, so it would keep getting worse till the drivers let off the gas, or they lose the car. for example lewis almost lost the car in baku during fp.
