At one time, Toyota's chances scared everyone in the F1 paddock, but they never won anything.

McLaren boss Seidl to join Audi F1 effort
Is this for real??!
Why would it be a gamble with Audi ? McLaren is a small fly compared to Audi/VW money. Plus a nice kick in the Ass for saying no to them? You really think Ferrari Considered Tosh and Seidl? All kinds of rumours go around in F1 that we later hear from the source that they were never in any contact with the other party?
I have no clue, I guess if someone thinks he's good enough, why not.MrGapes wrote: ↑13 Dec 2022, 12:44called itMrGapes wrote: ↑13 Dec 2022, 05:55If this is true... for the sake of stability would they promote someone within the team, like Andrea StellaSmallSoldier wrote: ↑13 Dec 2022, 05:41

to be honest I am completely fine with Andrea Stella taking the helm, their is no-one more deserving and prepared to take the role, he's been with the team through several phases he will continue the journey.
Adrian Newey signing is not in the same league as Seidl...Seidl is no Adrian Newey. Seidl is just a good Manager. Newey was the Williams Chief engineer, at the time, that had just won more than two thirds of the constructors championships in the years he spent at Williams. James Key would have been if he was as good as Newey and he's not. Few are.
Agreed… Still surprised on how sudden everything was… Stella is the right callMrGapes wrote: ↑13 Dec 2022, 12:44called itMrGapes wrote: ↑13 Dec 2022, 05:55If this is true... for the sake of stability would they promote someone within the team, like Andrea StellaSmallSoldier wrote: ↑13 Dec 2022, 05:41

Andrea is the most deserving of this role, he is ''old school'' and yet he can move the team forward as well. He has the knowledge and the capacity to move the team to the front, we will win again - Mclaren!the EDGE wrote: ↑13 Dec 2022, 13:33Sure I’m pissed Siedl is leaving… but really pleased Stella’s taking control
Zac is not fool, and if he thinks Andrea is up to the job, then he has my full backing. It’s always better to promote from within… try before you buy… and realistically, who else is there?
Andrea has already had a leading role in taking McLaren forward, just look at the pit team, which would have been under his control
Just remember TP does not design the car, he leads the team and makes strategic decisions. Here we have consistency and experience, 2 essential strengths McLaren require to move forward
