Anthony Davidson impressed by Piastri when he was watching trackside
Any idea why ? What is Piastri doing that is special ?
What other people said - he doesn't look like a rookie. He was precise and looked on the limit.

Piastri did say he is known for having very steady laps with few mistakes. I guess that is what Davidson is seeing here.

he was impressedd how he wrestled the car, but they went on to say, that they were very insecure about the vibes coming out from the team, whereas am and alpine there are positive vibes/rumors

Vibes and feelings, pre season is truly on
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

We’ll see about that when he’s under big pressure from Lando. Playtime is over now. F1 is the real thing.

He has been the slowest of the morning session. Easier to do steady laps when you’re not pushing. So can’t really make any statements yet imo about his performance so far. Let’s wait until we’re well into the season before making performance evaluations 👌🏻

Piastri is class, he’s following in Russell / Leclerc’s footsteps. The kid is going to really challenge Lando.

Agreed. No point in being steady if you are slow.

Call me naive or an eternal optimist but I think this car will be extremely solid to develop on. Reckon it’s midfield contender (safe bet) but there are some really encouraging signs from packaging/front wing/floor that lead me to believe that they’ll be in the mix with a solid chance to really reduce the deficit to the top 3.

Then my apologies. I understood your meaning wrong before. I assumed you said that the other teams had much faster 2023 cars than Mclaren 2023.
Ahhh no, I'm going to lengths to say that we won't know that even after these three days. 6th of March we will see where we are on Qualy pace.

But I put money on us being faster than last years pole.

The question will be how much faster than last years pole and how close to the top 3.

Good top speed considering the barn door rear wing they were running with this morning. Points to a lot less drag already
