2023 car comparison thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

They may be trying to match RB on the straightline speed. Like they did for Baku last year
There's always a limit to how low you can go with rear wing. Too low and you will eat the rear tyres quickly, this wing looks too low to me. RB wing actually looks spot on for Bahrain on the other hand :) Not sure if they've changed it since first outing this morning.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

This may not be the right topic thread but what is the consensus on the change to 18" wheels? right or a mistake?

You are asking for a consensus on a forum? This is a place to debate! :D

Looking at the total weight and the individual weights inertia effects, suspension loading etc I think they are a negative

It’s a mistake imo. Has made cars heavier and the increased tyre width of a few years ago has made rain races impossible. I am for smaller wheels and also much smaller cars when we’re at it. F1 cars have become too big and too heavy.

Last years quali. They’re all faster already than those top speeds. Encouraging signs

Lovely comparison of RB airbox also, RB was also working hard on chassis drag reduction clearly, impressive stuff from both them and Ferrari.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I think it being the only fully painted wing makes it look larger

Be interesting to see the airflow around each
