slightly off topic but I still haven't gotten used to looking at these clumsy and heavy boats

compared to this 2020 q3 lap they just look (and sound) silly. i don't understand how fom managed to completely f**k up onboard sounds to such degree.

To be fair that is with C4 rather than the soft for Bahrain which will be C3
Yep, and there does seem to be a serious amount of pace between the two, most teams are saying around a second in pure qually pace between the two.
Where are you getting this information from. Pirelli said difference between C3 and C5 is 7-8 tenths. How can C3 and C4 be 1 second. I don't mean to question it but have you heard that first hand (i know you have access to intel)?
The performance advantage given by the compound used on the C43 compared to the tyre of the Dutch champion (C3) is quantified by Pirelli at about 7/8 tenths.

Things like this will vary a lot from track to track. At bahrain a lot of laptime comes from traction zones and softer compounds make a big difference for that, so I'd guess a lot more laptime available from a softer compound at Bahrain moreso than other tracks

It's what the Pirelli guy reported to Sky when they were looking at data earlier.

Are we sure the quick Ferrari lap was with the higher downforce wing? I'm pretty sure they removed it because the DRS failed.
After it broke, Ferrari only used the old wing. Just checked again on F1Tv.

That's what I suspected. The top speed is erroneously claimed as that of the higher load wing.

Indeed. 2021 Onboards are fine too, but now everything feels slow and heavy in the current onboards

Don't like these boats, especially through the slow section (S2)... The worst is ofc at Monaco
