Not the greatest first run. Now it remains to be seen if there's anything more to be extracted or if this is it.

What are new tyres worth?

We will find out in a minute… The Red Bulls also lost a lot of time with used tires

That lap was not good at all. Did they use used tires? Hopefully they will be in Q2 and Q3.

Did they do their 1st run on the tyres that they were on when the red flag was called?

If they can get them in the window there’s hope

Incredibly so. Top 16 within .659, not sure I've ever seen it that close.

4 tenths between P6 and P16… Is this the closest the grid has been? The smallest details will make a difference

The drivers will also make an impact… The positions aren’t great, but they are not out of it either

For a team that spends to the cap, this is not good enough…

While yes others' 1st upgrade packages whenever they come will move the goal posts but if ours is relatively more we could jump quite a lot of the grid if the field is separated by so little time, the grid is incredibly tight.

1.1 seconds from P1 to P20. Really close grid! No shame for Piastri in his first qualifying P19. This car is not a qualifier and my guess is McLaren added a little bit of extra downforce to protect the tires during de race.

Most teams are hitting the cap now
